Tagging and "Interested" etc.

There have been a lot of questions recently regarding tagging people who are in search of something or who may be interested in an item that is posted. 

If you personally know that someone is interested or looking for a specific item, you can write "interested" and tag your friend. This way you can contact the person and let them know you put "first dibs" on the item. You (or your friend) can always pass if she isn't interested. For example, I knew that my friend was looking for a Flyers outfit for a girl - as soon as I saw one posted, I commented interested - and tagged her. If someone else was interested in the item, they could comment "next." I was first because I wrote "interested." 

If you are just looking at the ISO threads and realize someone is looking for something that is posted, just tag them to be nice. If they see it, they see it. It doesn't mean they would want it anyway. We do things on a first come, first served basis here. 

If the seller tags a person in their own post, I would assume that they a giving that person the first shot at the item. 

Another issue that has been coming up is people being skipped over because someone PMs the seller. You MUST comment if you are interested in something. This way everyone knows their place in line. In addition, there is no "bidding" on items. 

Finally, treat others with respect. I know that it is often difficult to distinguish the tone of someone's comments, but try to be kind. I know that we are all most likely at fault when it comes to this. I'm sure some of you think I come across "snippy" at times, and I do apologize, but I just get so many private messages and tagged in so many posts to answer the same questions that it can get frustrating, especially when I try to outline things here on this page and provide visual instructions in the "useful info" photo album on the page. TGTT - Re-Organized!

As most of you know, your admins have spent HOURS (over 24) deleting over 5,000 photos from the group page. Many photos were missing important info, were duplicates, or were sold and just not deleted. 

Over a month ago, I created a Halloween album in which members could post Halloween costumes. That has seemed to work very well. What the admins have decided is that albums will be posted for all the major item categories. I have already created the album covers and will be uploading them soon. I know that iPhone, iPad, and other mobile users will not be able to upload photos to albums. If you have a computer, please upload your photos to the appropriate album. Your items might sell faster if people can easily find them!

If you are posting on the wall and not in an album, you MUST create a photo collage using one of the apps on your phone or a program on your computer. Warning: For example - If you have 5 shirts to post and you post them all individually, they will be deleted by the admins. You need to take a group photo or create a collage pic. 

***Admin-created Albums will stay up and active for 30 days. Wall posts will be deleted after 14 days. *** (We don't want to have to go through over 5,000 pics again!)

Members are still responsible for deleting their own photos once an item sells, but this way at the end of the month, it's easier for the admins to delete an entire album with one-click as opposed to scrolling through 3000+ photos. I also think this will be easier to find what you are looking for, as well as to find your posts to delete once they sell.

REMEMBER: When photos are in albums, the info doesn't show up on the wall - you must CLICK ON THE PHOTO to see the details. Click photos before asking questions. The info should be there.

Any posts with missing information will be deleted. 

You MUST put your location and where you are willing to meet. Writing "will meet locally" doesn't help much - what's local to you may not be local for someone else. Be specific.

If you find that you are too far for most of the people in this group, please feel free to remove yourself or ask an admin to remove you.

TGTT Down on 10.03 for Clean-Up!

***WARNING!!!*** Posting is being turned OFF on Wednesday, October 3rd, from 5-midnight. The page is going to be cleaned up by your admins. ALL photos posted prior to September 26th are being deleted, as well as all duplicates, items that appear sold, and current ISO threads (excluding Halloween). You can help us out by deleting your own photos that are old or sold. Please be sure to find your posts and record all contact info if you still need it. We are also asking that you refrain from commenting during this time on Wednesday evening so that it makes it easier for us to bump and delete. We appreciate your cooperation!

Sold / Pending Pick-Up

I've been receiving messages from members telling me that they have been overcharged for items OR that people are showing up with less money and putting people on the spot to take less money for an item. In an attempt to keep people honest, here's what you should do:

Comment on your item: SOLD PENDING PICK-UP on Monday, 9/10 - $5 due and TAG the buyer. 

This way your post will not be deleted until after the transaction is complete. This way people will be tagged and see the price - as a reminder - and you can always pull up the post on your phone if there is a question when you meet up. 

Just be sure to PLEASE delete your pics. 

Be honest. Be fair. Treat others how you'd like to be treated.

So you have no idea how many messages I get from people asking me what all the different "letters" mean! I'll help you out!

Answers to Recent Questions

There have been a lot of questions coming up on the page, so I thought I would answer them here - one time! 

How long should I wait for a response if someone is interested in my item?
It's a matter of common courtesy. Try to understand tat not everyone can be on the computer 24/7 and that most people are busy - just like you. Personally, I'd give someone 12-24 hours to respond to a message. Remember that not everyone has figured out the "other folder" yet, so tag them in the post and let them know that you have messaged them. Ask if they are interested to reply or you will go to the next person. **Check to see if the person has added themselves to the Member Directory under the files tab on the page.**

How do I decide who "gets" my item? 
The first person to write: "I want this" or "I'll take this" is who should get the item. If someone is asking questions, it doesn't "hold" their place. If you want something, say you do... You can always pass if you change your mind! 

I've seen Gift Cards listed... Are they allowed to be sold? 
Absolutely. Are you afraid that the card won't have a balance? When you go to pick-up: Ask for the phone number on the back of the card. Call the number and verify the current balance. 

How do I know the purse I'm buying is authentic? 
Verify it's authenticity BEFORE handing over any money.

Can I sell to the "highest bidder?" 
This is not eBay and we don't bid on this page. You set the price you want for the item and that's it. You can reduce the price, but you cannot increase the price. 

I need this item gone ASAP. 
State your requirements for pick-up when you post. You cannot decide after the fact that you want the item picked up immediately. Everyone is busy and it is not fair to expect someone to pick-up instantly. 

Will I be removed from the page for not deleting my photos? 
No. We will warn you first if you are not deleting photos on a consistent basis. Sometimes the admins just scroll through and delete anything that has been arranged for pick-up. We will not delete anything within minutes of pick-up arrangements being made. We will wait at least 12 hours to make sure all comments are seen. Please delete as soon as you know the item is sold. You can always repost if it falls through. 

What will get me permanently banned from the page? 
Any comments and/or posts that are extremely disrespectful or are a verbal attack on any admin or member of the group. 

I went to pick up an item and it wasn't as described. 
Don't buy it. You have the right to refuse any item. Be sure you check over any item before you pay for it. If it has moving parts - make sure they move! If it's dirty or stained - say no thanks. It's your call. You cannot ask for a refund after the fact and unfortunately there is nothing the admins can do to help you. 

Why do people ask so many questions? 
You weren't specific enough in your description. Give ALL the info when you post. The more info you provide, the less questions you'll be asked and the better your chances of selling your item. List: size, description, location, willing to meet or pick-up only, model number, brand, price, if there is anything wrong with the item, its general condition, measurements, and anything else you think someone would want to know!

Can I sell samples or coupons? 
No. They were FREE. Samples say right on them: Not for Resale. Coupons say: No cash value. 

Who can I report a member to if they handled a transaction inappropriately?

Does Denise get paid for answering emails and maintaining the page?
No. Cut her some slack! She's a mom to a 5 month old baby boy and a wife, just like most of you. She also runs an online business: www.flutteringcreations.com and is a Tastefully Simple consultant. You can feel free to support one of her "paying" jobs or click the "donations" tab above! :)

The following items CANNOT be sold on TGTT:

• Car Seats 
• Full drop-side cribs
• Any item that has been recalled
• Defective products
• Animals
• Weapons or anything reated to weapons of any kind
• Stock from any Direct Sales consultants
• Items acquired in bulk for resale
• Coupons - you may give them away for FREE
• Samples of any kind - including formula - you may give them away for FREE 

Keep in mind: You are not obligated to purchase anything if you decide once you see it that it is not what you were expecting, or if the condition is not as described. Do not purchase something and then go home and decide that you would like a refund. I CANNOT do anything about it. Do your research BEFORE you purchase. Ask for serial numbers, model numbers, etc. if you'd like to check out a product before buying.  

The admins of the page are in no way responsible for any transactions that take place through Too Good to Toss. 

The admins are keeping a list of those who consistently choose not to follow the rules or who are disrespectful. If your name appears three (3) times, you will be removed from the group. In addition, anyone who chooses to verbally attack any admin or another member of the group will automatically be banned from the page. I strive to keep this group a positive experience for everyone and will not tolerate negativity or "drama" of any kind.
